DPI has been awarded three contracts under the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) National 911 Program. The 911 program aims to coordinate both public and private sector initiatives to provide optimal 911 services, as well as provide resources for authorities to operate interconnected emergency medical services. DPI will manage the three key initiatives as NHTSA engages the 911 stakeholder community in the creation and completion of a National Next Generation 911 (NG911) Roadmap, revision of the existing Model State 911 Plan and Model State 911 Legislative Language, and creation a strategic plan for a nationally uniform 911 data system. “DPI is proud to support the mission of the National 911 Program to provide leadership and coordination to optimize 911 services,” stated Andrea Stone, DPI’s Chief Executive Officer. “With a long history in both federal transportation and national security initiatives, we are honored to be working closely with NHTSA’s Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce traffic-related health care and other economic costs.”
