DPI Sponsors WHS STEM Events for Students

DPI sponsors Women in Homeland Security (WHS) hosting of numerous Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) field tripsthroughout the Washington, DC area. This year, more than 300 students will see “STEM in action” at public service careers like the U.S. Coast Guard, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Fairfax International Search & Rescue, FBI and others. WHS is a non-profit, non-partisan organization founded in March 2009 to provide a “professional organization for women working in the field of homeland security who are committed both to their jobs and to combating the threat of terrorism.”

DPI’s Chief Executive Officer Andrea Stone stated, “STEM comprises a critical component of this nation’s educational and business foundation. The entire DPI team commends and support WHS’ efforts to increase our students’ knowledge of STEM.”
